Prevention officer

As a company, you are required to appoint a prevention officer. This employee’s task is to follow up on the action points from the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E), with the goal of preventing absenteeism and avoiding risks of (workplace) accidents. It’s important to organize this properly. This is done by ensuring that the prevention officer has the right knowledge and skills. During this training, we will focus on equipping the prevention officer to apply these skills directly in practice.

We will dive into what employers are required to do, what the role of the prevention officer entails, and what needs to be done according to laws and regulations. We will also answer the question: how can you successfully implement this role? And how do you get the topic of ‘safe and healthy work’ onto the agendas of management, leadership, and employees?

The program

The training lasts half a day. Depending on needs, we will delve deeper into certain topics. These topics will definitely be covered:

  • The role and responsibilities of the Prevention Officer.
  • Occupational health and safety legislation (and the role of the SZW Inspection).
  • Work-related risks within the organization.
  • The Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E).
  • Psychosocial work stress (aggression and violence, sexual harassment, discrimination, work pressure, and bullying).
  • Advice and communication skills.

What you will gain

By attending this training, you will become more effective in your role as a Prevention Officer. You will be able to navigate the “forest of regulations” with greater ease. You will know how to build support and implement improvement measures in the right way.
