Capability, the occupational health service of attention & action

Working with joy and in good health – that’s what every employee wants. As an occupational health service, we help you work vital, healthy, and happy. On this page, we explain what we do for employees and what you can expect. We also share information about absenteeism support and preventive consultations.

This is how we work

When you report sick to your employer, your employer notifies us: the occupational health service. We initiate a sickness process in which we work together to ensure you recover as quickly as possible and return to work, within your capabilities, of course.

About occupational health services

Every employer with employees is required by law in the Netherlands to work with a certified occupational health service. This is mandated to both create a safe and healthy working environment and to guide absent employees towards a quick, responsible and sustainable recovery.

  • Absenteeism management: Read here about what happens once you report sick, who is responsible for what tasks, and how things are legally regulated.
  • Preventive consultation: Ask preventive health questions to an occupational health physician during a consultation upon your request.

Attention & Action

Attention & action – these are the key words within our services. Attention to you as an employee, where our colleagues listen to you and provide you with the support you need quickly. But also action, where we take the right steps to ensure a responsible and sustainable recovery. Our goal? To make sure that you can return to work comfortably and in good health.

Our team is ready to assist you.

Capability is the occupational health service for Attention & Action. We work with a team of experts who are highly skilled in their field. Here’s how our task distribution looks:

The Absenteeism Manager

Our Absenteeism Manager regularly has conversations with you as an employee. They listen attentively to you and work with you to identify the cause of the absenteeism. The Absenteeism Manager then advises on actions and interventions that contribute to recovery and returning to work.

The Occupational Health physician

Our Occupational Health physician is a medical specialist and ultimately responsible for the absenteeism management of employees. The Absenteeism Manager and Occupational Health physician work closely together and form a strong team. Their goal: to ensure that you recover as quickly as possible and can return to suitable work.

Who we are

Each team is the sum of its parts. Our colleagues strengthen each other to achieve our shared goal: helping employees start and stay healthy at work.
